Murrah breed of buffalo, the pride of Haryana, is a milk type animal. Murrah Dairy Buffalo is originally from Haryana and Punjab states of India. Offered buffalo can survive in hot condition and noted for its high resistance to parasites. Daily milk production is more in this buffalo. The breed characteristics are massive body, neck & head comparatively long, horns short and tightly curved and udder well developed. On an average, this Murrah Dairy Buffalo produces gives about 8 to 14 liters per day. This buffalo can thrive on any crop residue in absence of concentrates during drought.
